>ECO Excellence Series: The Arcuz @ Kelana Jaya Champions ESG in High-Rise Living
17 June 2025
The Arcuz @ Kelana Jaya marks the first project spotlight in the ECO Excellence Series - a collaborative editorial initiative by YTL Cement and Sin Chew Daily that recognises built projects demonstrating meaningful commitments to sustainable construction.
Developed by EXSIM, with Taghill Projects as the appointed contractor, The Arcuz is a 46-storey high-rise residential tower that exemplifies how sustainability and quality can go hand in hand. Certified with a GreenRE Silver rating and winner of the 2024 FIABCI Malaysia Property Award (High-Rise Residential), the project integrates ESG principles from early planning through to post-completion operations.
To meet its green objectives, the development implemented a wide range of sustainable measures, including energy-saving systems, efficient water usage, and the selection of low-carbon, recycled building materials. Among them were YTL Cement’s ECOConcrete™ and ECOSand™, selected for their ability to reduce embodied carbon without compromising structural performance.
As both material supplier and technical partner, YTL Cement supported the project team with customised mix design recommendations and sustainability expertise - enabling seamless integration on site.
The Arcuz demonstrates how practical, scalable steps can lead to high-performance buildings aligned with Malaysia’s green building standards - and serves as a blueprint for future sustainable development.
