On 14 October 2023, the momentum of sustainability continued to grow as BUILDS hosted its second Recycling Open Day at Wisma YTL Cement. This event, hosted in collaboration with Geo Alam Environmental, aimed to inspire and promote sustainable waste management practices, all in conjunction with Hari Alam Sekitar Negara 2023.

From the early hours of the morning, YTL Cement employees, their families, and friends arrived at Wisma YTL Cement's recycling booths, bringing with them carloads of recyclables.

1,600 kg of recyclable materials, including paper, plastic, metal, e-waste, and textiles, were collected by the end of the event. Proceeds generated from the sale of these recyclables will be channeled towards supporting a noteworthy NGO programme.

Through this initiative, YTL Cement employees, families, and friends have not only played a pivotal role in diverting waste from landfills but have also extended their support to empower the community. This aligns with our 'Building Capacity and the Community' Sustainability Pillar and is a significant contribution to Hari Alam Sekitar Negara 2023, as we continue to contribute positively to the community's development and sustainability.
