The Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) and The Cement and Concrete Association of Malaysia (C&CA) recently concluded the initial deliveries of Simen Rahmah to housing projects located in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Krai, Kelantan.

Introduced in April 2023, the Simen Rahmah Scheme focuses on facilitating the development of affordable homes, specifically catering to the B40 and M40 income groups. The collaboration between KPKT and C&CA involves the supply of 20 million bags of standard 50 kg cement or 1 million tonnes of cement, to be gradually delivered until 30 June 2027.

YTL Cement, through C&CA, had earlier pledged to contribute towards the Simen Rahmah scheme which offers the KPKT 1 million metric tonnes of bulk cement at RM290.00 per metric tonne as compared to the current market price of RM410.00 per metric tonne.

This partnership translates into potential savings of up to RM5,000 on the purchase price of each housing unit for citizens, depending on the type and price of the home.
