The inaugural Construction Industry Congress 2024 (CIC 2024) took place from 3–5 December 2024 at AC Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Sponsored by YTL Cement as the Platinum Sponsor, the event was organised by the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) where it brought together industry leaders, experts, and innovators to drive meaningful change in the construction sector.
About CIC 2024 Focusing on resilience and sustainability, CIC 2024 provided a platform to address challenges and explore opportunities in the construction industry. The event aimed to support a greener and more innovative future for Malaysia’s construction sector. Hosted on a hybrid platform combining physical and virtual sessions, the congress ensured accessibility and inclusivity, enabling maximum participation from across ASEAN and East Asia.
Key Highlights On Day 1 of the hybrid event, Mr. Lim Tze Liang, General Manager, CDL Academy, presented on “Innovative Strategies for Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Urban Development in Malaysia.” Following the presentation, Mr. Lim participated in a panel discussion alongside Prof. Nik Meriam Nik Sulaiman from UMSDC and TPr Ezrein Faizal bin Ahmad from PLANMalaysia. The session was moderated by Prof. Zuhairah Ariff Abd Ghaddas from UNISZA, fostering ideas exchange on sustainability and urban development.
